COPPERthe yellow lab

About this brand

Copper the Yellow Lab is a small brand built on one real dog: Copper, a six-year-old yellow Labrador in Charlotte, North Carolina. It runs a daily show, a shelf of books, and a gear shelf — and its whole business model is a refusal: no stock dogs, no invented stories, no borrowed credibility.

The humans

Ryan Scott — Copper's human, the show's host, and the author of the brand's nonfiction. He writes and narrates the show from the dog's real life: the rides, the swims, the shedding, the silver arriving on the muzzle. His other books (including Contrarian Retirement and The Last Generation Hired) are named here as credentials only — this brand stands on its own dog.

Christine Scott — the other human in Copper's life, and the show's recurring guest from launch week ('Christine's corner': the daycare report, the grooming shift). She's also a fleet author in her own right (the EZband book, Burnout Recovery for Women) — here, her qualification is simpler: Copper adores her, and she's usually the one holding the towel.

Copper — the talent. Six, yellow, Charlotte. See his page; he has one.

How this brand works

Real life is the raw material.

The show and books are built from this dog's actual days, supplied by his humans. When there's no story, the show says so and teaches general Lab knowledge instead — labeled as knowledge, never dressed as a diary entry.

Photos are really him.

Every image of a dog anywhere in this brand is a real photo of Copper. There is no AI Copper, no stock Copper, no 'Copper-like' dog.

Products are labeled, not hyped.

The gear shelf's two labels — Tested with Copper / On the shelf — are the brand's signature. The tested label is earned in real life and dated; at launch it was empty, and we said so.

No borrowed authority.

Nobody here is a veterinarian or a certified trainer, and nothing on this site pretends otherwise. Health and training topics are owner experience and general knowledge; your vet knows your dog.

Location stays general.

Copper's home is 'Charlotte.' That's the whole address this brand will ever publish — a dog's privacy is a small thing, and we keep it anyway.
